Carpet Care

Carpet provides an extra layer of insulation on the floors in your home, thus saving you on heating costs. It lowers ambient noise, provides a safe non-slip surface and improves air quality by trapping particulates that can be easily removed by vacuum cleaning. With careful care and maintenence, your can retain your carpet's appearance and prolong its life.
Daily and thorough vacuuming is the most important part of carpet care. A beater bar or brush head will help remove dirt and grit that can collect at the base of your carpet, causing premature wear. Proper vacuuming should be done slowly to allow the beater bar or brush head to work efficiently. Make sure to spend extra time on your most heavily trafficked areas.
Care should be taken to shift furniture and stair carpets occasionally to avoid uneven wear. Outdoor shoes or shoes with grip should be worn as little as possible; their soles can snag or tear the pile resulting in damaged or worn looking areas. Consider placing a rug near any external doors to help catch additional dirt and grit before it has a chance to get into your carpet.
We also suggest Scotchgard Protector, a treatment applied during manufacturing that forms a durable and invisible shield that can keep your carpet looking newer for longer. Spills are repelled effectively making for quick and easy spot cleaning. Dust and dirt have difficulty adhering to treated carpet, easing vacuuming and reducing the overall wear on your carpet.
